Presented to John during a quiet time on the evening of his birthday—
■ ■ a wooden clipboard, an invention that came after their time and something Little found in a home office space here in Milton. He came to rely greatly on the thing — it helps one keep up with papers so nicely, ideal for Organising Things and Making Lists! He's gotten a year's use out of it and now will be passing it onto the only man who enjoys Organising Things and Making Lists more than himself: his third lieutenant.
■ ■ a nice cashmere scarf, found by Little in one of Lakeside's more luxurious cabins, where it was left behind by an owner who clearly had a dapper gentleman's eye.
■ ■ a ceramic fawn, found in one of Milton's old cabins, among a variety of other figures (the home seemed as though it might have belonged to an elderly woman...) Little picked out one of the sweetest-looking little animals for his dear (deer) friend.
