CONTENT WARNINGS ⚓

The Terror is a canon that involves some very dark themes, including: psychological horror, supernatural horror, mental and physical degradation, starvation, effects of lead poisoning, scurvy, frostbite / exposure to the elements, and cannibalism. The canon also deals with themes of British colonialism / imperialism, and prejudice and harm done to indigenous people. Themes / symptoms associated with mental illness such as anxiety, depression, dissociation, and PTSD are also common for this character.

SPOILER — Edward also comes with a "body / facial modification / piercings horror" warning (due to the canonpoint I play him from, it literally will never come up in my writing, but I'm putting this as a warning in case folks get curious and google him / photos might come up!)

OUT OF CHARACTER ⚓

BACKTAGGING. 100% cool with this! I run on the slower side, especially through the week. Backtags are a must for me and I will gladly backtag into infinity. But if you feel something's getting too stale, I never mind dropping or handwaving details as preferred in order to move on to the next scene, etc.

FOURTHWALLING. I'm definitely all right with people knowing about the Franklin Expedition, as it was obviously an historical event (albeit with some of the details of the show being fictionalised or not fully accurate, so Edward's Version of Events will not match Exact Reality, which I'm cool to play around with!!) but would prefer for him not to learn he's being depicted from like...... a niche AMC mini-series

THREADHOPPING. If all parties involved are cool with it, I don't mind at all.

PREFERENCES. While I generally default to brackets, I'm just as fine with prose and will gladly follow whatever style you may prefer!

IN CHARACTER ⚓

PHYSICAL AFFECTION. ✓ | Edward typically keeps a bit of respectful, polite, professional distance, and isn't one to instigate physical touch to strangers or those he isn't too familiar with. Around his colleagues / companions / those under his charge, however, he is prone to little gestures of reassurance and affection, in the form of shoulder squeezes, back pats, etc.

ROMANCE. ✓ | I'm open to exploring things like this if they develop, though Edward is awkward with his emotions and tends to restrain himself very well, not to mention gets Very Anxious about Lots Of Things... and comes with a strong dose of Victorian Sensibilities that he clings onto pretty fiercely even when everything around him is crumbling apart! He also doesn't have much experience with such matters, generally. But I'm certainly down to see what might happen and am wide-open for ships (not the kind that get stuck in the ice)! I'm down for crosscanon romances as well as with canonmates, and while I know Edward has no Canon Love Interest, I'm absolutely here to explore something there! (ftr, I could ship him with literally anybody in canon.) In games, romance in general would likely take Some Time, but for memes / psls, I'm totally fine speeding things up.

SEXUAL CONTACT. ✓ | With all of the above in mind, I'd be down to explore this too. I'm cool writing things out, fading to black for whatever you might prefer, etc.!

PHYSICAL VIOLENCE. ✓ | Cool with it!
